So this is really exciting!!! And it’s been possible largely with the help and enthusiasm of all you Salsa Dancers, past and present, here in St. John’s NL! We’ve certainly come a long way over the past few years.

Here’s part of the email I received just this week with the subject line: Congrats, finalist for ILD Community Award

Greetings Judy,

My name is Ronna and I am the Communications Officer for Canadian Dance Assembly (CDA). Nice to e-meet you.

 As part of our national campaign “I love dance/J’aime la danse”, CDA facilitates a celebration of dance with an annual national awards ceremony that sets out to recognize and honour the achievements from within the Canadian dance community including dance enthusiasts, supporters and practitioners.  It is our second year to host the national “I love dance/J’aime la danse” Awards on November 19^th, 2013 in Vancouver, BC. Winners will be announced at the Orpheum Annex theatre beginning at 8pm.

 This year we are pleased to inform you that you and Salsa in St.John’s have been selected as a finalist for the “I love dance/J’aime la danse” COMMUNITY Award.  It is hoped that you would be able to attend the evening’s ceremony…

 Attending the awards is not the only exciting event taking place in Vancouver. Canadian Dance Assembly’s national conference “Moving Strategies” runs November 19 – 20. This year’s conference aligns with Dance in Vancouver and the CanDance Network meetings…
