Swing Dance Lessons are back!!! Starting Wed Jan 16th, 2013
Hooray!!!
Where? Room 4068* in the Science Building (very close, if not the same class as where we were before).
When? Wednesdays 7:30p.m.-9:00p.m., starting Jan 16
What to bring? Yourselves in comfortable clothes and slippy shoes (i.e. no winter boots).
How much? The registration fee is $20. The same rate goes for both students and non-students.
Instructor: Timothée Govare.
All are welcome! No experience or partner required.
* In case there is a night class happening in the room, we will move to the next room over or down the hall if necessary. Dancers who join the class can be added to the swing dance facebook group so they can check for last minute updates before heading to class.

This week’s beginner’s lesson will be hosted by MUNBLDC Instructor Jim Russell. No partner/no experience necessary. Slippery bottomed shoes recommended.
* Sunday Salsa @ AnneXe is organized by Salsa in St. John’s. Lesson and door fees are used to pay for venue rental costs.

Attention MEN…you’re needed on the dance floor for African GNAWA lessons and recital!
Message from dance instructor Dounia Hamoutene:
I am putting together a GNAWA piece for the Jill Dreaddy DanceCo dance school recital middle of June 2013. This piece involves dancing, drumming and a fair bit of feet stomping to create African GNAWA rhythms. I am seeking male dancers with some dance experience (not much) to join us at our classes starting middle of February: class is Thursday starting 6.20pm at the LeMarchant Studio. Dancers interested do not have to pay for classes and I will teach them some drumming and a few steps. They will have though to commit to performing during the two nights of recital at the Arts and Culture Center. It is just a dance school recital so not too intimidating but it will be fun to inject a bit of African warmth in the daily life routine…….

We need SALSA INSTRUCTORS!!!
Our St. John’s, NL Salsa scene has been growing fast and we’re suddenly facing a crisis: we need more instructors for 2013.
There are several opportunities within the community for instructors and Teacher’s Assistants (TA’s) of various levels and experience.
– Beginner’s Salsa one-hour lessons will start up again Jan 13th for Sunday Salsa @ AnneXeLounge. We’re looking for a rotation of teachers to take turns leading the beginner’s session: instructors, TA’s, guest teachers, and even experienced dancers from our Salsa in St. John’s group!
– MUN Ballroom & Latin Dance is searching for a replacement Salsa instructor for their Winter Semester…their Salsa Lessons have been wildly popular over the past few years, so they MUST find an instructor or two!
